Bret has served as Co-Organist at Eastminster since 1989.

Bret is originally from Huntingburg, IN, where he graduated in 1981 from Southridge High School. Before attending the University of Evansville (U. of E.), he studied piano with Larry Doll and pipe organ with Robert Schroeder. Bret earned a Bachelor of Music degree in 1985 and a Bachelor of Computer Science degree in 1986, both from U. of E. While attending U. of E., he studied piano with Greg Davis and Peter Inness and pipe organ with Dr. Douglas Reed.

Bret is a member of the American Guild of Organists(AGO) and holds a Service Playing Certificate from the AGO. Bret, his wife Debi, and their son Josh reside in Evansville, IN.

“The people at Eastminster (choir, congregation, and staff) have really touched my life by not only their support of me and my music, but also my family. Not a Sunday goes by that someone doesn't say how much they appreciate my music and ask how Debi, Josh, and myself are doing. I really appreciate the people and their sincere kindness and caring. It makes me feel like I am part of another family.

Also, I really enjoy playing at Eastminster because of their interest and support of a variety of music - pipe organ, piano, classical, contemporary, etc. I have always believed how important it is for people to be exposed and open to different types of music. Of all the churches I have played for through the years, Eastminster is the best when it comes to this.”
